Tessa Ever After by Brighton Walsh: Blog Tour, Review, & GIVEAWAY!

In this grippingly emotional New Adult novel from the author of Caged in Winter, what you want isn’t always what you need…
Jason’s been living (and loving) the rich playboy lifestyle for five years, but now his parents are pressuring him to get involved in the family business. The last thing he wants is another obligation, but when his best friend moves out of state and asks Jason to look after his sister, he can’t just say no.
Tessa had to grow up way too soon. After dealing with the aftermath of her parents’ deaths, then becoming a teenage mom, she knows the meaning of responsibility. Which is why, at twenty-two, she’s looking for so much more than a party boy. She’s looking for someone who can stand by her and her daughter…forever.

A relationship between them is doomed from the start, but who says they can’t have a little fun? But as Jason gets closer to Tessa—and her daughter—fun starts to turn into something else… Something Jason’s not sure he’s ready for.

Flo's Review
So, if you remember at the end of my Caged in Winter review I said: "I need the next book, Tessa Ever After, in my life immediately." Luckily for me, I really didn't have to wait that long to get my little hands on it. I woke up this morning in the mood for a sexy sweet romance and immediately thought, "Tessa." It was good I had this thought, because this book was perfectly that. I flew through it in a day.

I liked the realness that Brighton brought to the situation. Jason didn't just change overnight, and Tessa didn't just abandon everything she knew about him and jump right in. Both resisted at first and then had to be sure of themselves and the other person before committing. I loved that this book is about how you don't have to be defined by the mistakes of your past. Yes, they had a part in shaping the person you are today, but You of the Past is not You of Today. Tessa saw that in herself and in Jason; he had to learn to see it in himself. Knowing this is what gives him the strength he needs to do what he needs to do to be happy.

The pacing in this story is fantastic -- there was on pivotal scene where I was literally thinking, "OMG! OMG! OMG!" as I practically sped read it. It was like a train wreck and I couldn't look away. I knew what was going to happen, but it was so exquisitely painful getting there -- reading it and knowing what was going to happen but not being able to warm them. I wanted to be like, "Tessa, NO!! Jason, STOP!!"

I think I actually liked Jason better than Cade. (Even though he can't cook -- lol!) The more flawed boys always seem more real to me, and it just does something to me to see them become vulnerable for love. *swoony swoon*

Brighton hasn't said (that I know) if she's writing a story about Jason and Cade's friend Adam, but, Brighton -- please?!
