Goodreads description:
Kacey Cleary’s whole life imploded four years ago in a drunk-driving accident. Now she’s working hard to bury the pieces left behind—all but one. Her little sister, Livie. Kacey can swallow the constant disapproval from her born-again aunt Darla over her self-destructive lifestyle; she can stop herself from going kick-boxer crazy on Uncle Raymond when he loses the girls’ college funds at a blackjack table. She just needs to keep it together until Livie is no longer a minor, and then they can get the hell out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a stage name perfectly matched to her chosen “profession.” But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle all of them. What she can’t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.
Kacey doesn’t want to feel. She doesn’t. It’s safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again. She starts to believe that maybe she can leave the past where it belongs and start over. Maybe she’s not beyond repair.
But Kacey isn’t the only one who’s broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgiveable past of his own; one that, when discovered, will shatter Kacey’s newly constructed life and send her back into suffocating darkness.

Mary's Review
I am not even sure where to begin on this book. Well, I will start with these words: OUTSTANDING! WOW! AWESOME! K.A. Tucker has a hit here and I think that its a book that should be read by all!
Best Part of the Book: I love Kacey! She had this tough exterior, trying to protect her younger sister, Olivia and be the adult that she needs to be. However, she is barely an adult. Kasey and Olivia are living in Miami after an incident at their guardian's home. They are living there because their parents are dead from a horrible accident! With no money, an cramped apartment and in a new city, Kasey isn't sure how long it will last. But, she is going to make it work. Let's meet Storm! Oh, Storm! I love her too! She is Kacey's neighbor and the mother to a very sweet little girl, Mia. Storm's job, a bartender at a local strip club. With the threat of eating Spam for the rest of their lives, Kacey begins work at Penny's Palace (strip club) at a bartender.
Oh, Trent! I cannot forget to talk about Trent. Another fictional boyfriend to add to the list! I loved him from the very first (and funny) introduction. Trent is trying to break down the walls that Kacey has put up. Kacey cannot seem to trust people or even let them in, but Trent is different for her. She seems to be pulled to him and is not sure what is happening with him.
The other great part of this book is a twist that I DID NOT SEE! OMG! It was so good! I loved how KA Tucker kept is under the hat until *BAM* there is was in black and white!
Not so great about book: *sniff* I want more! When I read the last page, I was so sad. I didn't want it to end. I wanted more of Trent, Kacey, Olivia, Storm and everyone!! But, I guess every story has to have an ending and KA Tucker did it well!
