Blog Tour: Why Indies Rock!

Several months ago I did my TOP 10 Authors of ALL TIME list.  On that list of the 10 authors 8 of them are Indie Authors.  When Tamara told me about this blog tour I jumped at the chance to express my love for Indie Authors.

I am going to do this post a little bit different than some of the other bloggers.  For this blog tour I am going to go in depth of 3 Indie authors and how they changed my life and reading habits. (WARNING: there will be lots of gushing and rambling).

One thing I love about Indie Authors is their writings truly move me.  Don't get me wrong I have read books of the "larger scale" and they moved me.  However, none ever made me bawl my eyes out, make me feel like I was right there with the characters or make me feel like they are talking about my own personal life. Tiffany King has done that for me in 2 of her books.  I don't think that I can express how wonderful she is.  Both in her writings and her personality. The first book I read of hers was Wishing For Someday Soon.  The book was like a picture of my childhood.  I don't think I have cried so much in a book or felt so connected.  I didn't think that Tiffany could top it...until,  Miss Me Not.  This is a book that every single person (young and old) should read! Hands down: its the best book ever! I am not even joking.  Tiffany's talent is beyond words.  Her books (to me) are like masterpieces and can create a world where you want the good to prevail and the evil to go away.  I am hands down her biggest fan and cannot wait for her next masterpiece.

Do you remember the first character that you fell in love with?  Do you remember the first time you hated a character?  Rachel Higginson is the ONLY (I repeat ONLY) author to have truly make me love a character, hate that same character and then fall back in love with that character.  Rachel Higginson created a world that I want live in.  Well, if immortal magic really existed I would live there (haha!)  Her books suck you into this world and you cheering for the goodness in the characters and yelling at the evil ones.  You want to help plot out the plans to take down a kingdom with her but still want the happy ending (that we all crave).  The Star Crossed Series are 4 books that are filled with love, hate, deception and the hopes for a happy ending.  No one has done it better than Rachel!!

With all the Indie Author around its hard to say that one stands out beyond another.  However, since I have been in this "indie" world there is one name that comes up the most in conversations.  That name is Shelly Crane.  Shelly holds a special place in my Book Nerd Heart.  Her Significance series is beyond my most favorite series ever (THAT IS THE TRUTH).  Her book Stealing Grace take a hot-topic and turns into a true love story.  Her Collide Series was a series that was full of twist and turns that left you wanting more with the turn of every page.  Not only that, Shelly's Significance book is being turned into a movie! (Which I am dying for!!!!!) Like Tiffany and Rachel, Shelly's books pull you into the world that she has created and you do not want to leave.  Her talents and love for writing comes across on every page.  You can feel how she loves her characters and has a true respect for writing.

These 3 ladies are the reason WHY INDIE ROCK in my Book Nerd World!
